Warroad Community Church & Minnesota pastor Gus Booth is the latest news regarding this matter as reported on drudgereport, abc, etc. Booth addressed the members of his Warroad Community Church one Sunday in May and told them, “If you are a Christian, you cannot support a candidate like Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton for president,” he very much knew he was violating the law. He even wrote a letter to the IRS explaining what he had said and challenging the tax collection agency to do something about it. Churches and other non-profit groups like charities and universities do not have to pay taxes. That exemption, however, comes with a price. Churches, and by extension the pastors who serve them in an official capacity, are not allowed to endorse or oppose political candidates. Booth, 34, is one of several religious leaders who this year hope to challenge federal law by flouting the regulations about endorsing candidates from the pulpit a move that could potentially cost them their tax-exempt status, creating financial ruin for many congregations. The separation of church and state may be one of our democracy’s most vaunted values, but its enforcement falls to one of our government’s most derided institutions — the IRS. Neither Obama on TV nor Reverend Wright in the pulpit will tell you this information. They’re too phat and rich from the Washington DC policy. Pastor Greg Dixon delivers this much needed modern-day sermon about the relationship of politics in Americas …

The 1st Amendment protects the church from being subject to government regulation and taxation. Moreover, even Form 1023, which is the government application form (i.e. contract) for tax exempt recognition, clearly and explicitly states that churches are already considered and recognized as tax exempt even if they do not file Form 1023.
these religious right wingers are nuts!!! God will he shut up.
Amen! God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors. Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
hello justabout….” i dont understand why churches are exempt from taxes when their community have to pick up the tab; somebody does and thats ok with you?
hi V: you have no idea if god is angry. it sounds like your the angry one. its too bad your a sheep, herding yourself to church every sunday morning
Hello flpete,
You really need to educate yourself how the tab is actually supposed to be picked up for local community costs. Because they’re not supposed to be paid for by our labor. But rather should come from legitimate state & county duties & excises collected from your state’s corporate business enterprises. Because being a fictional corporation is a government granted & taxable privilege. But as creations of the Creator, neither we, nor His temples, should be taxed just because we exist.
Hi Justabout. You really didnt answer my question. the people around the church or city in some form or manner have to take up the slack the churches dont. yet they get involved in local or federal politicts. best of both worlds. anyways thanks:
Hello V: once again, you seem angry and using a history book to make your point. are you afraid to use your own thoughts ? . please do not respond. you are not a challenge to me.
Yes I did. Duties & excises from corporate activity in your state & county are supposed to take up the slack. But eveidently you’re proud to be a taxpayer and want the churches to be one too.
hi justabout: actually iam proud to be a taxpayer. the church should be too and do their share as all american business’s. we all know its a business as well as preaching to, of, for the sky wizard. thanks.
hello V: i was right. thank you
You Sir are as un-American as Red Square. And an offense to me as both an American and as a believer in Christ.
I believe the following quote from Samuel Adams serves you well.
If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you. And may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
hello justabout: must you demean people to elevate yourself or thoes who dont agree with you? children do that. please do not respond back and i wont either.
I’m sorry, but I call things the way they are. And you Sir exemplify communism & atheism in blatant contrast to constitutional republicanism. Because in America, whether we believe in God or not, we acknowledge that our rights are inherent from nature. And that government may not tax nor take away those rights except upon due process of law pursuant to the 5th Amendment. We have a right to sell our labor and not be taxed for it. And churches have a 1st Amendment right not to be regulated either.
The so-called Christian Congregations who have incorporated into a fictional entity under the system of Mammon for Federal Reserve Notes and Tax PRIVILEGES have also forfeited their God endowed unalienable rights in return. Unwittingly or not, the incorporated Congregations have become subject to the jurisdiction of the District of Columbia. Scripture expressly states that we are the body of Christ; incorporating His body into a corrupt system is implying disobedience.
