Hi
I was just wondering….what is wrong about birth control. I understand that abortion is TOTALLY and COMPLETLY wrong, but birthcontrol doesn’t seem so bad to me….

Thanks :)

Contraception is wrong because it separates sex from procreation, reducing human beings to the level of nothing but pleasure objects. This is objectification of something made in the image and likeness of God – and is wrong.

Contraception also encourages the idea that sex can be used without ANY chance of conception. This leads to people seeking abortions when sex DOES lead to conception.

Contraception leads to a “contraceptive mentality” which rejects children. When children DO appear, it is common to abort them.

What if your married and you don’t want to bring a child into the world before your prepared? What if someone is still in college? Of course if a child does come when someone is not prepared it is still WRONG to abort them…

Thanks :)

People using those excuses are just that – using excuses.

Marriage is for creating FAMILIES. Families are made up of a husband and wife, and children if God blesses them with children.

Contraception takes the control out of God’s hands. And leads to an abortive mentality.

Contraception has been condemned by Christians since the earliest days. It leads to adultery, fornication, sex before marriage, abortion, pornography – generally speaking, just the downfall of society.

People who are not ready for children should not get married – as children are the NATURAL RESULT of correctly-expressed marriage. Saying anything else is denying a fundamental truth of the universe.

Marriage is correctly expressed in sex. Sex naturally leads to children. With contraception, sex is no longer sacred and special – it is just pleasure. It demeans men and women (but most especially women). This is why the Church opposes contraception & encourages correctly expressed sexuality.

Even the environmental complications rising from these chemical poison contraceptives is a crime against humanity. The amount of estrogen released into our water systems is way too much, resulting in a plethora of unwanted side effects in both human and animal populations. So, even if you are not a Christian, this still affects you severely.

This affects EVERYONE! Remember – contraception and abortion cut the number of children. This has an ECONOMIC impact! A HUGE one!

Check out the video The Cost of Abortion for more information.

Wonderful, Michael, you’re totally right, but… what about natural methods of family planning? I heard the Vatican is ok with them… is it true?

NFP is allowed, PROVIDED it is used for entirely legitimate reasons. It is not permitted to use it to simply avoid children completely.

Joel Osteen is the “Dr Phil” of heresy. He is a charlatain and a fraud; no better than any other circus-tent preacher who picks and choses the warm-fuzzy passages of the bible to distort and give people a false sense of validation for their own immorality, as opposed to the REAL “Good News”. Unfortunately, our current Catholic church is just as guilty, as we have far too many “Father Feelgoods” who never mention sin anymore. When was the last time you heard the sin of gluttony mentioned?

Thought:The evil of contraception needs to preached from the rooftops….At the annual MArch for Life. After being received into the Church in ’99 i began attending the march every yr. I’m convinced those types of efforts futile if we don’t as forcefully oppose the root cause of abortion(divorce, pornography, the acceptance of gay lifestyles etc..), CONTRACEPTION!I’m making a plea to every Catholic to make this our theme at the march for life and to educate our nation.

why is the acceptance of “gay lifestyles” the cause of abortion? I’m not sure of the connection there (if you’re saying all divergence from the divine plan for sexuality is it, then just say that, because all sin separates us from God). because by nature, homosexual acts don’t result in procreation.

Acceptance of the gay lifestyle means acceptance of sex for the sake of pleasure and nothing else; selfish sex.

If we accept gays can have sex without consequences, simply for selfish pleasure – then why not heterosexuals? And that means dealing with the consequence of sex – children! So, people argue for abortion.
